Have you seen it? It’s from I Bought A Zoo and Matt Damon is pretty adorable when he says this to his teenage son. I have to say, it’s a pretty good quote to keep in your back pocket when you’re an entrepreneur.
The first two stages of social media marketing are Awareness and Engagement and I want to give you some ideas and plant some seeds. A few weeks ago I talked to the ladies in my membership about audiences and how to cultivate our own and get in front of new audiences.
Cultivating our own audience looks like going live on our social media or recording a video. This could also be inviting someone to speak to your audience on a live, maybe a quick training that your audience would benefit from. Sending an email or newsletter is also a way to cultivate your audience.
Another way to increase awareness is to step onto someone else’s stage. 😱 You could speak at networking meetings, be a guest on a podcast or offer to do training or talk on a friends or acquaintances social media page. Podcasts are busier than ever and podcast hosts are always looking for guests.
Collaborations are very effective. One of my favorites! Grab a friend who compliments your business and brainstorm with the purpose of increasing awareness and finding new audiences. It is always fun to work with a friend.
Remember, your business is awesome and so are you. Be brave and go ASK to serve someone’s audience. You can totally do this! The cool thing about this process is it is kind of like a snowball. Once you do the hard work in the beginning it will snowball. Soon you will be getting invitations and you won’t have to ask.
